Charles Stephens Presents

William Hanson

"William has a staggering ability to make one feel the centre of attention and utterly inadequate at the same time." Financial Times

William is a perennial voice in the media, who comments on matters of taste and critiques social trends for a wide-range of media outlets. You may have heard his regular slot with BBC Radio 2's Steve Wright, or seen him on ITV This Morning, discussing Downton Abbey and the like. He also writes an acerbic column for the MailOnline.

Drawing on his background of working within VIP households and experience of advising diplomats on protocol, he wrote the best-selling book The Bluffer’s Guide to Etiquette. William is the only Guinness World Record holding etiquette expert.

In 'Much Ado About Everything', you can hear William talk about hitting the language (and food) barrier in China, how he started teaching etiquette as a teenager, and getting rather flustered in the Chairman's loo in Mumbai...
